Service as Worship Sunday and Youth Service Blitz

This MLK Weekend we invite you to join us in worshiping God through acts of service.

On Sunday, Jan. 15th, we’ll meet in the sanctuary for a bit of scripture, prayer, and singing, then get down to work making casseroles and to-go meal bags for Winter Outreach, we’ll write letters to our elected officials, we’ll make laundry packs for Isaiah 58 Ministries, and much, much more! The Mission Committee plans our service projects so that there are opportunities for all ages and abilities! Please come and join us for this special worship service.

Then stay after worship for a showing of The Pruitt-Igoe Myth, a documentary film on policies and personal stories that dominated public housing in  St  Louis from the 1950s-1970s. This film screening is sponsored by the Touchy Topics Book and Discussion Group.

On Monday, Jan. 16th, send your Middle or High Schooler (and adult volunteers, too!) to join us for our Youth Service and Learning Blitz! From 9am-5:30pm we’ll learn about community engagement and service and then, you know, go do it. We’ll again be volunteering with House of Goods. We’ll finish up the day by going to see a movie, so be sure to RSVP by Fri. Jan. 13th so we can get the tickets! Invite a friend, and bring your school’s service-learning form if you need that, and we’ll see you Monday! Check out the event flier for more information: Service Blitz 2017
