RALLY DAY!

Who is ready for some fall church fun!?
It’s time for our annual Rally Day Celebration on September 20th and the Return of Sunday School!

Sunday, September 20, will be Rally Day, the fall kick-off of Oak Hill’s Sunday School year. All Sunday School classes will begin meeting on the 20th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. This year there will be two classes, one for Adults, and a combined class for Youth and Children. (See descriptions
below.)

During our worship service, we will commission the Sunday School teachers. After service, we
play! We’ll have lunch on the grass outside the front of the church. Grilled bratwurst and hot dogs will be
provided. We’ll have ice tea, lemonade, and water. We ask that everyone bring a side dish or dessert to
share. (Please drop off your food in the kitchen before the service.) After lunch, we’ll have games for the
young and the mature—bingo, bubbles, hula hoop contests, and more!

There will also be a connection table outside at the picnic, so you can find all sorts of new ways to connect with God, folks at Oak Hill, and others in our community through study, service, fellowship, crafts, music, and, of course, food!

Come and join us for Rally Day! Bring a friend! Bring a neighbor! Bring something delicious to share! Or just bring a smile and be ready for a good time! All are welcome at Rally Day!

Adult Sunday School
The Adult class meets in the Theleos Classroom, downstairs, around the corner from the kitchen. The format is a facilitator-led discussion. Watch the bulletin for announcements about the topics and leaders of the sessions.

NEW!!! Children/Youth Combined Sing and Play Sunday School
The children and youth in our church really seem to love music and performance, so we have an exciting new concept for Sunday School where the focus is on singing and acting, and the youth will help to lead the presentation of Bible stories. The class will be learning Bible songs with dances and movements, studying Bible stories and then designing puppet shows or skits about the story.  We’ll have some crafts too. The class will meet in the Children’s Church room downstairs in the Education Annex near the door to the parking lot. From 9:30 to 9:40, we’ll have a snack; 9:40 to 9:50 will be music time. At 9:50, we’ll break into groups to work on crafts or play writing and practice. We look forward to having the class present some of their songs and skits during the Time for Growing Disciples in our worship service.
