Lenten Devotional 3/7/19

March 7, 2019                       Psalm 27                        Erin, Emily, and Carolyn

Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud,
be gracious to me and answer me!
“Come,” my heart says, “seek his face!”

I wondered what it meant to cry out to the Lord. What it meant for us to be in that space and need to be heard. And what it might mean for God to listen. So I asked some friends…

I think that for me, crying out to God means recognizing both our strengths and shortcomings as humans and asking for help to fill in the gaps.  I think God hears us by providing us with strength, peace, and community with one another.                        – Carolyn Ream

To me crying out to God means asking him for guidance always and to provide us with the courage to always keep going. God hears us by providing every day happiness in the little things and by continuously blessing us with new support systems                                                                                               – Emily Bischoff

Prayer: Hear us, O Lord. Listen and fill in the gaps, provide blessings, and help us to know, you are always there! AMEN.
