At this week’s Wednesday Bible Study class we will take a look at the Theological Declaration of Barmen.
The Declaration of Barmen is one of the Confessions of the Presbyterian Church (USA) included in our Constitution, Book 1, The Book of Confessions.
“The Theological Declaration of Barmen was written by a group of church leaders in Germany to help Christians withstand the challenges of the Nazi party and of the so-called “German Christians,” a popular movement that saw no conflict between Christianity and the ideals of Hitler’s National Socialism.” (-taken from the longer description in the Book of Confessions pg. 280)
You can download a PDF of the Book of Confessions for free, here. We recommend that you don’t print the whole book, because it is several hundred pages. The Declaration of Barmen is found on page 279 of the book pages, it’s 317-322 in the PDF document if you want to print out the part we’ll be reading.
Join us for this study on Wednesday 6/3/2020 at 11:00 a.m. on Zoom, using meeting ID 259 777 226.
