Grab you mask and come join us outside! We’re going on a hike at Cliff Cave Park on Saturday, May 1. Meet us on the church parking lot at 9 a.m. to caravan to the park, or at the trailhead at 9:30 a.m. Bring some water, wear your sunscreen, follow all your COVID safety practices and come enjoy the outside. Park by the Riverside Shelter at the bottom of the hill.
This Sunday (4/25), instead of Sunday School, at 9:30 am we will gather on zoom for a special time of conversation and prayer- to process the events of this week and to pray for God’s justice and healing.
All are welcome to join us for this time together.
Zoom meeting ID 768 992 383.

Join us on Saturday 4/3 at 10 am for an outdoor, distanced, masked, no-contact Easter Egg Hunt! We’ll meet at the Old Carriage Shelter in Tower Grove Park for this annual event, adjusted a bit for pandemic safety. Wear your mask, bring your own basket, and come ready to hunt! We will “hide” empty eggs, have the kids collect them, then we will give out candy with a big scoop (no-touch) based on how many eggs each kid collects. As always, we’ll have one hunt for the tiny humans, and another hunt for the medium-sized humans. There will also be some no-touch games and other general silliness. Wear your bunny ears and come join us outside!
Click here to see a park map– the Old Carriage Shelter is #10 on the map.
Join us in observing the season of Lent at Oak Hill.
During our Sunday worship services, in this pandemic year when we cannot be in the sanctuary, when we cannot be in person together, we’ve decided not to take more away (as we usually do during Lent) and instead, we’re adding some extra blessings in. Each week, our resident artist, 13-year-old Lucie Crittenden will be creating an original painting on the scripture themes of the season. Join us for worship on Zoom, or keep checking back on this post to see Lucie’s creations.
Our Intergenerational Sunday School Class is starting a series on prayer, using a curriculum from Illustrated Ministry. You can join us on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Please contact Pastor Erin to get the link and password for the course materials.
Our Wednesday Bible Study Class will be reading Amy-Jill Levine’s book, Entering the Passion of Jesus this Lent. Join us on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. on Zoom. Contact Pastor Erin for the Zoom link and to get a copy of the book.
We have printed copies available of this year’s Lenten devotional, Again & Again, from A Sanctified Art. If you would like a copy, please contact Pastor Erin.
We also have an activity calendar that is great for families who want to experience the season of Lent together at home. This resource, from Bless This Mess, is available for you to download and print at home. Just contact Pastor Erin for the link and password.
*** You may have noticed that contacting Pastor Erin is the way to get the inside scoop on all of this. It’s not because Pastor Erin super loves getting emails, it’s just because these materials are all copyrighted and we can’t just post them on the whole internet for free. Pastor Erin’s email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Sunday Feb. 14th you are invited to join our friends at Isaiah 58 Ministries for an online cooking party!
Since the annual pancake supper, usually held in the Oak Hill Church basement, isn’t going to happen this year, we’re bringing the party to your house!
Join us on zoom as we cook alongside Chef Mickey Kitterman, making our own gumbo and praline bread pudding.
You provide the ingredients, we supply the recipe and the chef!
Hear live updates from the ministry, and maybe even play some games!
Can’t make it to the live event? Buy a ticket and you’ll get a recording of the lesson, which you can play at your own leisure!
Live zoom event: Sunday, February 14, 3-5pm CST
Registration: $10 per household, paid at https://i58ministries.org/mardi-gras-cooking-party-registration/.
A zoom link will be emailed to you after registration.
All proceeds benefit Isaiah 58 Ministries.
