Ashes To Go

Oak Hill Presbyterian Church will not have an “Ashes To Go” location this year, but if you are interested in sharing in an “Ashes To Go” event with another church, check out the links below to find out where other St.Louis area churches are holding events.

Churches said to be sponsoring “Ashes to Go” events in the St. Louis area on Ash Wednesday, 2022 include those listed below. Get in touch with the church online or by phone to confirm and for details.

Holy Communion Episcopal Church, University City, will have Ashes to Go at two locations in the Loop and in Central Clayton. The church’s phone number is (314)-721-7401, and their website is at https://www.holycommunion.net/the-forum-1/latest-news/senior-wardens-report-yz5tr?rq=Ashes.

John Knox Presbyterian Church, 13200 New Halls Ferry Road

Florissant, MO 63033-3231, (314) 921-5833, jkpcoffice@gmail.com

will be offering Ashes to Go in front of the church, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Manchester United Methodist Church will offer “Ash & Dash” 7-9 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and 4-6 p.m., a drive-thru Ash Wednesday experience in West St. Louis County. During this community event, clergy will be on hand to pray with vehicle occupants and offer a free cross keepsake in lieu of ashes this year (due to Covid-19). This event is open to the public and held at the Manchester Athletic Association parking lot at 14380 Manchester Rd in Manchester,  MO (just west of Hwy 141). Look for Ash & Dash signs. The church’s phone number is 636-394-7506, and their website may be found at https://manchesterumc.org/news/.

Ash Wednesday ONLINE Service with Compton Heights Christian Church on March 2, 2022 at 7 p.m.

Oak Hill has been invited once again to share in an Ash Wednesday service with our friends at Compton Heights Christian Church on Ash Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. This will be an online service.  The Zoom login information is given below.

Also: if you should wish to participate during the service in the traditional Ash Wednesday imposition of ashes on forehead or hand, here is a link to a video that gives instructions on how to prepare ashes for this purpose: https://youtu.be/Hq3zZyOvCbo. It is the same video, prepared by Madison Peterson, that was made available for Ash Wednesday last year. We are grateful to Madison and to Compton Heights for this help.

Compton Heights Christian Church is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

WORSHIP – March 15, 2020
Due to coronavirus precautions, we decided not to gather together for worship in-person, in the sanctuary today (3/15/2020), but we did put together this 16-minute worship video, that you can watch at home,
or on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/397765366?ref=em-share

Friends, it’s no fun being apart from one another in this time. We promise to do all that we can to keep us connected to one another and to God, while we also work together to keep our community safe and healthy.

Peace be with you, today and always.
