CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP WILL BE ON 12/24 at 6:30 P.M.
Please join us for a service of Lessons and Carols on Zoom. We’ve shortened the lessons and sure, singing along in your house all by yourself on mute is kinda strange….but there really is so much love, hope, music, and community built into this service this year. Please join us. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors and strangers, too. Make sure to have your advent candles ready, and have a candle for each worshiper in your household, as we will be lighting the candles and singing silent night at the end of worship. You can download the worship bulletin here:

For those who live locally, a few of us will be gathering outside of the church 30 minutes after worship ends, in masks, with proper distancing, to light our own candles that we brought from home, to sing a few Christmas carols together outside. Please make safe choices for you and your family, and know you’re welcome, but also we understand if you are eating dinner, putting kids to bed, worried about COVID, just need a rest, or have any other of many reasons not to be there in person. Our zoom worship will be lovely and very, very safe for all!

Sunday 12/20/2020
This Sunday is our Children’s Christmas Program. During our regular morning worship, our children, youth, and their grown friends will lead us through the Christmas story through word and song. You may be asked to move a little, you may wish you had gotten a costume together, you are certainly going to want to download one of these sweet, sweet Zoom backgrounds! Join in the silliness, join in the joy! Zoom backgrounds and a worship bulletin are available below. Just right click on the backgrounds to save to your computer. Oh, and we’ve also included a sing-a-long Song Sheet so you can join us (on mute) singing at home during the Children’s Program. Thank you to Pastor Jillian for her fab digital creations!! Thank you to all our your worship leaders!!

There might be some Magi who want this background.
Oh, and a Shepherd might want this one!
This looks like a good Zoom background for a farm animal
And you really can be an angel with this background (it goes well with the virtual halo Zoom makes, too!)
A wonderful Christmas Story background.

Sunday 12/13/2020
Today we will worship God with story and song, in our first ever Advent Cantata! Music Minister Susan Brown has worked with our musicians to create a wonderful virtual Advent worship experience. Join us online at 10:30 a.m. Also, Pastor Jillian has created a Zoom background especially for this week. You can download that here (just right click and select “save image as”). You can also download the worship bulletin below.

Second Sunday of Easter – Holy Humor Sunday – 4/19/2020

At Oak Hill we have a recent tradition of celebrating Holy Humor each Second Sunday of Easter. That means hats and costumes and bad jokes and much silliness. We laugh together and take great joy in the trick God played on the world, and we allow ourselves to be a bit goofy after all the heaviness of Holy Week. So, we’re going to give Holy Humor Zoom a big virtual try! We encourage you to dress up or dress silly or come up with some hilarious (and church appropriate) Zoom background and join us for worship at 10:30. You can download the worship bulletin here:

EASTER SUNDAY WORSHIP – 4/12/2020

Easter Sunday – 10:30 a.m. We will gather online for Zoom worship (Meeting ID: 768 992 383) at 10:30 a.m. We will have special music and virtual communion, so please be sure to have your own communion elements at home and ready. This means bread and juice, or anything related to bread an juice- a cracker, some wine, whatever you have at home. Maybe pick a few flowers from your garden so we can remember flowering the cross in the sanctuary. Of course, we would love to see your homemade Easter bonnet, or your finest Easter pajamas!

This is the worship bulletin and a song sheet for Easter Sunday Worship:
(We heard that the music as it is linked in the bulletin has very small type which makes it hard to read, so Pastor Erin just typed the lyrics only on this song sheet)

We are not holding sunrise service this year. There will be a very special Easter morning video posted to our social media pages early Easter morning. For those who love sunrise worship, here is a sunrise liturgy packet you can print and read to worship on your own at sunrise, from our friends at A Sanctified Art.

For those who love to color, here is a link for a free coloring poster from our friends at Illustrated Ministries that you can print out in four pages, then tape together and color for an incredible Allelu… (oops! I better not say it yet). This would be fun to work on during worship, even!

Here is a full packet of free Easter Faith Formation materials from Illustrated Ministries, if you’d like to spend time with that this Easter.

This Sunday we will worship together online via Zoom.
You will need to go to www.zoom.us to sign up for a free Zoom account. Please do this before Sunday morning. You’ll want to use a computer or device that has a camera and a mic. Meeting ID: 427 890 204
Dial by phone (no computer): 312-626-6799

When everyone joins the meeting, I will have your microphones muted, so people won’t be able to hear you. As the worship services goes on, I will unmute people’s mics and we’ll be able to interact some. There is also a “chat” feature on the app, but just know… we can ALL see what you’re chatting about there!

At 10:30, before we begin worship, I will talk everyone through a few logistics so we can participate well together. We are aware that many people will be using Zoom for the first time, and there will be plenty of grace offered. Oak Hill is a congregation pretty good at trying new things. Let’s give this a try and see how it goes.

If you have questions about Zoom, please reach out to Pastor Erin or Pastor Jillian. Also, this is a short video on how to join a Zoom meeting, which might be helpful to watch if you are new to Zoom: https://www.youtube.com/embed/hIkCmbvAHQQ?rel=0&autoplay=1&cc_load_policy=1

WORSHIP – March 15, 2020
Due to coronavirus precautions, we decided not to gather together for worship in-person, in the sanctuary today (3/15/2020), but we did put together this 16-minute worship video, that you can watch at home, so that we still might worship together.

You can find our at-home worship video on our Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/oakhillpcusa/
or on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/397765366?ref=em-share

Friends, it’s no fun being apart from one another in this time. We promise to do all that we can to keep us connected to one another and to God, while we also work together to keep our community safe and healthy.

Peace be with you, today and always.
